Norwegian Rotarians visit to Welshpool
A group of seven Norwegian Rotarians and spouses from the Rotary Club of Skjeberg, led by Rtn. Thorotto Trapness visited Welshpool between the 20th and 23rd May 2004. The visit was a great success and our Scandinavian friends were able to visit Snowdonia, Ironbridge and many of the attractions of mid Wales
including Powys Castle and Montgomery. A Club dinner and reception was held on the 20th at the Royal Oak.
Welshpool Rotarians rallied together to transport the Norwegian group to Manchester Airport, when a community mini bus was found, at the last minute, to have been vandalised. A good example of the marvelous spirit in the Club.
Welshpool hope to visit Norway during our Centenary year.

who visited Alaska in 2003.
Fund-Raising Events
Hadrian's Wall Fund Raiser
The Three Peaks Team of Pat Lewis, Paul Coackley, Keith Rollinson and Mike Pepper plan to walk the 84 miles of Hadrians Wall between the 13th & 16th August 2004.
The Club hope to raise £7,500 from sponsorships and donations for Hope House, Shropshire and Mid Wales Hospice and County Air Ambulances.
Book Fair
This new Fund Raising event held at Church House on Easter Monday 12th April was a great success and raised to date £780 for Rotary charities. The idea of a Book Fair came from one of our Lady members, Estelle Bleivas who runs a book store. We gathered around 4,000 books and also included a bric a brac
stall. It was hard work but well worth it and the fellowship and support to set up and run the event was incredible.
Rotary Quiz - Bird Brain of Powys
This successful Quiz was won by Mrs. L. Stott of Guilsfield, taking away the cash prize of £20 and the only contestant to get all 50 questions correct.
The Quiz raised £232 for the Club and a second Quiz is planned early in the New Year entitled "Where was I, Who am I and What am I"
